The story of Kiloo
Kiloo started in 2000 as a two-person company in a small apartment in Aarhus, Denmark. Two years later its game Popstar, where you manage the career of an up-and-coming pop star, won the games category of the Nokia Mobile Challenge ahead of some 500 other entries. That set the course for a decade of mobile games, long before smartphones: Worms for mobile with THQ Wireless, the Hugo games, which a million people had bought by 2004, and Maya the Bee and Friends in 2006.
Between 2006 and 2009 Kiloo held the worldwide mobile rights to the Lego brand. In 2009 Kiloo licensed Wham-O's classic toys for mobile, and the Frisbee became Frisbee Forever, released in 2011 together with the action game Bullet Time HD.
From Frisbee Forever to Subway Surfers
In the spring of 2012 Kiloo and SYBO Games released Subway Surfers, the endless runner where you dash along the tracks, dodge trains and grab coins. It became one of the most played mobile games in the world, passing one billion downloads in 2015. Frisbee Forever 2 followed later in 2012. In 2014 Kiloo was the national winner of Børsen's Gazelle awards, first on the list of Denmark's fastest-growing companies with growth of 2,215.5 per cent over the four-year measuring period. The studio kept going with Smash Champs in 2014, Stormblades in 2015 together with Emerald City Games, Tesla Tubes in 2016, Dawnbringer, Spellbinders and the endless runner Metroland.
Kiloo Games today
Today Kiloo makes games for the browser, free to play on a computer, tablet or phone with nothing to install. Some of them bring our older titles back: Tank Headz is the 2017 tank brawler rebuilt in 3D from its original art, Smash Champs Arena and Smash Champs - Sliced return to the Smash Champs champions and arenas, and Rocket Racers grew out of a 2015 racing prototype. Bullet Bonanza, Fields of Fury and Warbands are our online multiplayer shooters, played on their own sites.
