Stack blocks, build anything
A block game is played with square pieces on a grid. You slide them, stack them, push them, pop them or build with them, and the whole game comes down to where each block goes next. The grid makes every move easy to read, and that is why block games are so easy to pick up and so hard to put down: you can always see the problem, and it is always your next move that solves it or makes it worse.
The block games on Kiloo come from four categories. There are number and falling-block puzzles, a warehouse puzzle where you push crates, a collapse game and a three-dimensional mahjong stack from the match category, a parking puzzle with sliding cars and a building sandbox where you stack blocks into anything you like. Some race the clock, some let you think for as long as you want, and most keep your best score or progress in your browser.
Block Drop is the falling-block game. You steer shapes into a ten-wide well, pack them without gaps and clear rows before the stack reaches the top, with a ghost piece, a hold slot and a preview of the next three shapes. 2048 is the number puzzle: slide every tile in one direction, merge matching pairs into the next power of two and keep the board alive long enough to build a 2048 tile, on boards from 4x4 to 6x6.
If you prefer to think before you move, Crate Shove has forty warehouse floors where you push crates onto chalk targets. You can push but never pull, so the order you work in is the whole puzzle. Car Jam is a sliding puzzle with sixty car parks: move the cars and trucks along their lanes until the red car can reach the exit.
Cube Collapse is quicker and more colourful. Tap a group of two or more matching cubes and it crumbles away, and bigger groups score far more and leave rockets, bombs and rainbow cubes behind. Mahjong Cubes builds a mahjong game into a block of cubes on a turntable, so you spin the stack to reach the matches at the back. Block Builder is the calm one: stack grass, stone, brick, glass and more on a little island, fill a blueprint for three stars or build freely and take a photo.
On a keyboard, 2048 and Crate Shove use the arrow keys or WASD, and Block Drop moves and rotates with the arrows, drops with Space and holds a piece with C. Cube Collapse and Mahjong Cubes are played with clicks, and Mahjong Cubes turns the stack with Q and E. Car Jam lets you drag a car with the mouse. Undo is there when you need it: U in 2048, Z or U in Crate Shove and Z in Car Jam.
All seven block games work on phones and tablets too. You swipe to slide in 2048 and to walk in Crate Shove, swipe to move and tap to rotate in Block Drop, tap groups in Cube Collapse and drag cars along their lanes in Car Jam. A few tips follow from the rules: in 2048 keep your biggest tile in one corner, in Block Drop leave room for four-row clears, and in Cube Collapse wait for bigger groups before you tap.
Yes. Every block game on Kiloo is free to play in your browser. There is nothing to download or install and no account is needed. Your best scores, stars, solved levels and saved builds are kept in the browser you play in.
Yes, all seven work on phones and tablets. You swipe to slide tiles in 2048, swipe and tap to move and rotate in Block Drop, tap groups in Cube Collapse, and in Block Builder you tap to place, long-press to remove and pinch to zoom.
2048 is the easiest to learn, because every move is one swipe or one arrow key. If you want something faster, try Block Drop. If you like a puzzle with a single solution to find, start with the early floors of Crate Shove or the warm-up car parks in Car Jam.
Yes. Crate Shove has a daily run picked by the date, so everybody pushes the same crates that day. Car Jam has a Daily car park with a streak, gentle on Monday and tough by Sunday, and Cube Collapse has a daily board as well.
Yes. Car Jam has no clock, so you can take your time, and in Crate Shove and 2048 nothing moves until you do. Mahjong Cubes has a Relaxed mode with no clock, and Block Builder has a free build mode on an empty island with twenty saved builds and a Photo button.
