The monsters on Kiloo are not there to frighten anyone. They are round, colourful and a little silly: a hungry monster waiting for a sweet, cute creatures in a dungeon that show you what they will do next, friendly ghosts queuing for a potion. A monster game here is any game where they are the stars, as friends to collect, guests to please, rivals to bonk or the character you play yourself.
The seven monster games come from casual, RPG, 3D and the Halloween category, so they range from a one-swipe puzzle to a full story with a team to train. Two of them are Halloween games that appear only in that season. All of them work with a mouse, keys or a touch screen, and they keep your progress and high scores in the browser you play in.
Rope Snip is the gentlest start. A wrapped sweet hangs on string in a diorama cut from coloured card, and you swipe your scissors across the string to swing it through three paper stars and into the monster's open mouth. It has sixty levels in four paper boxes, Time Trial runs and a Free Play sandbox where you build a level yourself. Monster Party Rush is the busiest: pick a monster or mix its parts and colours, then run, jump and dive with forty monsters on a 3D obstacle course and finish in the top 24 to go through.
Three RPGs put monsters at the heart of the adventure. Monster Tamer has thirty original monsters on a sunny island; meet them in turn-based three-on-three battles, offer a treat when they are worn out, train them, watch them evolve and challenge the eight clubs. Dice Dungeon has you roll five chunky dice a turn and drag them into sword, shield and potion slots while the cute monsters of a twenty-floor dungeon show their next move. Grid Knight is a tiny knight on a tile grid, bumping monsters one turn at a time, with plain numbers on every piece of gear.
In the Halloween season, Witch Brew lets you mix potions for friendly ghosts, black cats and a dancing skeleton by dragging the right jars into the cauldron and stirring along with a glowing spark. Monster Mansion has you build rooms in a cosy haunted house, hire cute monsters to say boo and keep every trick-or-treater giggling until sunrise.
On a computer, the RPGs use the mouse or the number keys: drag a die onto a slot or press 1 to 5 in Dice Dungeon, click a move and then a target in Monster Tamer, and step with the arrows or WASD in Grid Knight. Rope Snip is played by dragging the scissors across a rope with the mouse. Monster Party Rush runs with WASD or the arrows, jumps with Space and dives with Shift or E.
On a phone or tablet everything switches to taps and swipes: swipe across a rope in Rope Snip, tap a move and then a monster in Monster Tamer, tap a tile to walk in Grid Knight, and use the thumb stick with Jump and Dive buttons in Monster Party Rush. In the turn-based games there is no hurry, so read what each monster is about to do before you end your turn. Monster Tamer and Grid Knight save as you go, so you can stop mid-adventure and carry on later.
Yes. Every monster game on Kiloo is free to play in your browser. There is nothing to download or install and no account needed. Your saved adventures, stars, unlocked levels and high scores are kept in the browser you play in, so they stay on that device.
Yes, all seven monster games work on phones and tablets as well as on computers. You swipe to snip in Rope Snip, tap or drag dice and moves in the RPGs, and use a thumb stick with Jump and Dive buttons in Monster Party Rush.
Rope Snip is the easiest to pick up, since one swipe of the scissors is all you need. For a longer adventure, Monster Tamer lets you befriend and train a whole team. If you want something fast and silly, try Monster Party Rush.
No. The monsters here are drawn to be cute and friendly: a monster waiting for a sweet, little creatures to befriend, friendly ghosts and black cats at a cauldron. In the dungeon games you bonk and defeat them in turn-based fights, and even the Halloween games are about giggles and potions.
Yes. In Monster Tamer you befriend wild monsters with treats, build a team of six, watch them evolve and fill a book of thirty. In Monster Party Rush you pick a monster from the Party Monster Rumble cast or mix your own parts and colours before the race.
