What makes a good ball game

Every game on this page comes down to a ball and where you send it. You putt it, kick it, bowl it, bat it, shoot it at a hoop or bounce it off a paddle, and the fun is in reading how it will move: the bend of a free kick, the hook of a bowling ball, the angle off a cushion or a flipper. Several of them simulate the ball and the pins properly, so a better touch really does give a better result.

The ball games on Kiloo come mostly from the sports and two-player categories, with two arcade classics alongside them. They cover golf, football, basketball, baseball, bowling, volleyball, pool and pong. Many have a mode for two or more on one device, several let you play against the computer at three levels, and your best rounds and scores are kept in the browser you play in.

Ball games to start with

Putt Park is a calm way in: nine mini golf holes with windmills, water, sand and tunnels, where you drag back from the ball to aim and a scorecard keeps your round against par. Rooftop Hoops is sixty seconds of basketball. Hold to swing the power meter and let go in the pink band for a clean swish; three in a row sets the ball on fire. Free Kick Frenzy has you swipe from a dead ball under the floodlights, where a hooked swipe bends it round the wall and past a keeper who dives.

For longer matches, Bowling Alley plays ten frames of real ten-pin scoring, with pins that fall the way pins fall and hook put on with the curve of your swipe. Home Run Derby has five pitches with late break, and the timing of your swing decides pull or push. 8 Ball Rush is a full-size 3D pool table with an aim guide and full 8-ball rules, plus Rush, where every pot buys four more seconds on a ninety-second clock.

Three are built for two people on one screen. Neon Pong is the oldest duel in video games, rebuilt in neon. Blob Volley has two half-dome blobs on a sand court, first to ten, with smashes from above the net. Penalty Shootout gives each player five kicks, one taking with a swipe and the other picking one of six zones to dive. Brick Blast and Pinball Planet are the arcade side of the page: break every brick with paddle and ball and catch the capsules, or play a full pinball table with a Saturn ramp and a black hole that swallows the ball.

Aiming with a mouse, the keys or a swipe

Most of these games aim the same way on every device: drag or swipe from the ball. You drag back to putt in Putt Park, swipe to shoot in Free Kick Frenzy and Penalty Shootout, swipe up and curve the swipe to hook in Bowling Alley and drag the table to aim in 8 Ball Rush. On a keyboard the arrows aim and Space sets the power or swings in Free Kick Frenzy, Home Run Derby, Bowling Alley and 8 Ball Rush. In Pinball Planet, Shift or Z flips left and the / key flips right.

In the two-player games each player gets their own keys: W and S against the arrows in Neon Pong, A, D and W against the arrows in Blob Volley. On a phone each player uses their own half of the screen. Penalty Shootout suggests laying the phone flat between you. When a game shows a guide, such as the dotted arc in Free Kick Frenzy or the cue ball's path in 8 Ball Rush, use it while you learn how hard to hit.

Frequently asked questions

Are the ball games on Kiloo free?

Yes. Every ball game on Kiloo is free to play in your browser. There is nothing to download or install and no account needed. Your best rounds, scores and personal bests are kept in the browser you play in, so they stay on that device.

Can I play ball games on my phone or tablet?

Yes, all eleven ball games work on phones and tablets as well as on computers. You swipe to shoot, putt and bowl, hold to charge in Rooftop Hoops, tap to swing in Home Run Derby and tap left or right to flip in Pinball Planet. Two-player games split the screen into halves.

Which ball game should I start with?

Putt Park is the easiest start, with nine holes and a simple drag to putt. Rooftop Hoops is a good quick one, since a round lasts sixty seconds. If you have a friend next to you, try Neon Pong or Blob Volley on one screen.

Can two people play on one device?

Yes. Neon Pong, Blob Volley and Penalty Shootout are made for two on one screen, and 8 Ball Rush has a 2 players mode. Bowling Alley and Home Run Derby have pass and play for up to four, and Pinball Planet has a Two Player mode. On a phone, each player usually takes one half of the screen.

Can I play against the computer?

Yes. Neon Pong has three AI difficulties, Blob Volley and Penalty Shootout have Easy, Normal and Sharp opponents, Bowling Alley has the computer at three levels and 8 Ball Rush has a Play vs CPU mode. The others are played solo against a score, a par or the clock.
