What makes a good logic game

A logic game gives you every piece of information you need and asks you to work out the answer from it. There is no luck in the deal and no reflex test: a number tells you how many mines touch a square, a clue card tells you what cannot be true, a beam of light goes exactly where the mirrors send it. The pleasure is in the moment one deduction unlocks the next.

The logic games on Kiloo come from the puzzle and escape categories, with a car park puzzle from the driving games and two seasonal puzzles. Many of them are checked by a solver, so every board has an answer and often exactly one. Most offer a hint when you are stuck, undo for when you change your mind, and a daily puzzle picked by the date, the same for everybody. Your progress and best times stay in the browser you play in.

Logic games to start with

Two classics are the natural start. Sudoku has four difficulties, pencil marks that clear themselves and a hint that names the deduction instead of just filling in a digit. Minesweeper has Beginner, Intermediate and Expert boards, and your first click is always safe. Picture Cross builds on the same kind of reasoning: sixty hand-drawn nonograms where the numbers in the margins turn into a picture, and none of them needs a guess.

If you like moving parts, Pipe Flow has you turn brass pipe tiles until the water reaches every tank, over 120 boards with gear tiles and two colours of water. Laser Maze asks you to turn mirrors and drop prisms until a security beam lights every sensor on a vault door. Crate Shove is a warehouse puzzle where you can push but never pull, so the order you work in is the whole puzzle. Car Jam has sixty car parks where you slide cars and trucks to free the red one, with par set to the shortest solution.

The escape games tell a little story around the logic. Case Closed is a cosy detective grid in pictures: read the clue cards, cross out what cannot be true and stamp the case. Cipher Desk has forty-five coded notes, from a Caesar wheel to Morse and a sliding grille. Lockbox Lab is thirty mechanical puzzle boxes, each locked its own way with a tiny treasure inside. In their seasons, Light Loop turns wires to light up a house at Christmas and Spring Garden plants tulips with no twin colours side by side at Easter.

How to play and when you are stuck

Everything here works with a mouse, a keyboard or a finger. Click or tap to fill, turn or move; right-click crosses out in Picture Cross and flags a mine in Minesweeper, while Minesweeper on a phone has a Flag mode. In Sudoku you pick a cell and type a digit, or tap a number on screen. The arrow keys move a cursor in most of the puzzles, and Space turns a pipe or a mirror.

When you are stuck, H gives a hint in most of the games, and U or Z undoes a move. Lockbox Lab gives two hints per box and Cipher Desk three per puzzle. Before you reach for a hint, look for the one square or tile that can only be one thing, then work outwards from it. Daily puzzles in Pipe Flow, Laser Maze, Picture Cross, Crate Shove, Case Closed, Cipher Desk and Car Jam give you one fresh challenge each day.

Frequently asked questions

Are the logic games on Kiloo free?

Yes. Every logic game on Kiloo is free to play in your browser. There is nothing to download or install and no account needed. Solved puzzles, stars, best times and daily streaks are kept in the browser you play in, so they stay on that device.

Can I play logic games on my phone or tablet?

Yes, all of them work on phones and tablets as well as on computers. You tap to fill, turn or move, and the games add touch helpers where they are needed: a Flag mode in Minesweeper, a Mark mode in Picture Cross, zoom for the big grids in Case Closed and on-screen typewriter keys in Cipher Desk.

Which logic game should I start with?

Sudoku or Minesweeper, if you know them already: both start on an easy setting and build up. If you want something new, Picture Cross begins with small 5×5 grids, and Car Jam opens with a four-move warm-up before the harder car parks.

Do I ever have to guess?

Not in most of them. Sudoku puzzles are checked for a single solution, Picture Cross never needs a guess, and every case in Case Closed and every garden in Spring Garden solves by logic alone. Pipe Flow, Laser Maze, Crate Shove and Car Jam are checked to be solvable, and in Minesweeper your first click is always safe.

What if I get stuck on a puzzle?

Press H for a hint in most of these games. Sudoku's hint tells you why a digit fits, Case Closed lights up the clue that proves the square, and Car Jam shows the next best move. Undo lets you step back without starting over, and Crate Shove gives you unlimited undo and an instant restart.
