Match ingredients and build Pepe's pizzeria

A swap match-3 that builds a town. Line up three or more of a kind to clear them, make rockets, dynamite, drones and the VOTE pin from the bigger matches, and smash the crates, cones and rocks that litter each lot. Every level you win cleans a block of MatchTown; once a district is spotless you lay its roads and place houses, parks and industry, and the citizens move in.
Did you like MatchTown?
MatchTown is a swap match-3 set in a small town that needs cleaning up. Swap two neighbouring pieces to line up three or more of a colour and they vanish, the pieces above fall and new ones drop in. Four in a row leave a rocket that clears a row or a column, an L or a T leaves a stick of dynamite that blows a patch of the board, a square of four makes a drone that flies off to hit a target, and five in a row leave the VOTE pin, which takes every piece of one colour. Each of the 30 levels sets a goal inside a fixed number of moves: so many pieces of a colour, wooden crates to smash, traffic cones to clear off the board, rocks that only a power or a booster can break, and grass to mow by matching on top of it. Run out of moves and you get five more to finish the job.
Four boosters wait under the board for the tight spots: the Hammer smashes one tile, the Pickaxe clears a row, the Bomb clears a column and the Compass removes every tile of one colour. You start with a few of each and every third level you win for the first time adds one more. Nothing costs coins and there is nothing to buy; the boosters are a stock you spend with care.
The town is the reason to keep playing. MatchTown has 18 districts and 259 dirty lots, grouped in 30 blocks that open one after another from the City Hall outwards. Win a level and its block is swept clean; clean every block of a district and the build bar slides up. Lay roads, place houses, parks and industry and watch the scores: houses love parks and neighbours, parks grow next to other parks and shrink next to industry, and industry likes houses nearby. Every district has three targets, and meeting all three earns it a gold star. Cars drive the roads, citizens stroll the pavements and show you how they feel about your planning. Play with a swipe or a drag of the mouse; your town and your levels are saved in your browser.
MatchTown rewards the match you set up over the match you take first. Three pieces clear three pieces, but four in a row leave a rocket, an L or a T leaves dynamite, a square of four makes a drone and five in a row leave the VOTE pin, so look for the swap that makes a shape before you take the obvious three. Two powers side by side are worth swapping together: a rocket with dynamite, or the VOTE pin with anything, clears far more than either alone. Rocks only break under a power or a booster, so aim rockets through them, and grass is mown by matching on top of it, so work the green cells.
Spend the boosters on the levels that are slipping, not the first one that looks hard: the Hammer takes one tile, the Pickaxe a row, the Bomb a column, and the Compass is the one to save for a colour goal that is far behind. Every third first win adds a booster. In the town, roads matter: a house or a factory with no road next to it does not count towards the district targets, so lay a road first and build along it. Parks lift the houses beside them and shrink beside industry, so keep the factories on their own side.
Yes. MatchTown is free to play in your browser on Kiloo. There is nothing to download, no account to make and nothing to buy inside the game; your town, your levels and your boosters are saved in the browser you play in.
Yes. The levels are made for a swipe: drag a piece onto a neighbour to swap them, tap a power to set it off and tap a booster under the board to arm it. In the town you drag to pan, pinch to zoom and tap a block or a district. On a computer the mouse and the scroll wheel do the same.
Win levels. Each level cleans one block of dirty lots, and the blocks open one after another from the City Hall outwards. A district opens once the district before it is completely clean, so there is always exactly one glowing block to play next; tap it or the Level button at the bottom of the town.
A clean district shows three bars for housing, parks and industry with a target mark on each. Houses score more next to parks and other houses, parks next to parks, industry next to houses, and only buildings beside a connected road count. Reach all three targets and the district earns a gold star on its sign.
