Candy Floss Stand

Candy Floss Stand puts you behind the counter of a sweet stall at a travelling funfair as the lights come on. Visitors step up to the counter in little waves, each with an order bubble: a cone of candy floss in a certain colour and size, a bag of popcorn, a toffee apple, or two or three of them at once. Choose the sugar jar, then circle the spinning drum until the pink, blue or lemon cloud grows to the gold ring. Pop a batch of corn and hold the striped bag under the kettle until it reaches the line, or dip an apple in the warm toffee, twirl off the drips and set it on the tray. Whatever you make goes straight to the visitor who wants it.

Every visitor has a heart that slowly empties, so the trick is in the order you do things: start the popcorn before you spin, keep an apple setting while you serve, and never leave a drum turning on its own. Quick serves are worth a tip, serves in a row build a combo, and a cone that is just the right size scores extra. Each of the twenty nights has a ticket target and three stars to earn, and the tickets you score go towards upgrades such as a second floss drum, a bigger kettle, a queue rope that keeps visitors patient for longer and new sugar colours. Tickets are kept even when a night falls short, so you can always buy an upgrade and try again.

Sugar Rush is the endless mode: the queue never stops and grows quicker as you go, and the stall closes once three visitors have wandered off, so you play for a high score. The early nights are calm enough to relax with, the later ones are a small brain workout in juggling three stations at once, and every round is quick to start.
