Read the brief, style the client

Pattern Press is a textile print studio. You design one square tile: a background in a flat colour or a soft seamless gradient, then stamps on top — seventy-five motifs drawn in code, from daisies, monstera leaves and lemons to cats, comets, chevrons and terrazzo chips. Every stamp has a size, a turn and one of twenty-four inks, and a symmetry switch copies it in a mirror, four ways or as a full kaleidoscope. The tile repeats in every direction while you work, and anything that crosses an edge wraps round to the other side, so the repeat never shows a seam.
When the print is ready, press it. A giant wooden stamp comes down and the print lands on the product: a dress, a shirt or a scarf on the client, or a tote bag, a pair of cushions, a wall of wallpaper, a phone case or a wrapped gift on the display shelf, scaled to fit and following a few soft folds. In Clients mode every customer brings a brief as four picture cards — a mood (tropical, winter, retro, minimal, botanical or galaxy), a palette, a motif wish and a product — and the verdict scores the print out of 100 on palette, motifs, density and product, with stars at 60, 80 and 95. Each brief is a quick brain teaser of colour and spacing, and the clients are endless.
The Daily client is a fresh daily brief, the same for everyone that day; meet it with a star or more to grow your streak, a high score worth keeping. Free Studio has no brief and no score: everything is unlocked, you choose the model's skin tone, hair, shape and age, with glasses, a hearing aid or a wheelchair, and you can keep up to twelve prints in a library in your browser or save a photo as a PNG. It is a calm place to relax and make something pretty, with a gentle soundtrack you can mute.
Dress up, style hair, paint nails and decorate rooms.
