Blob Arena

Blob Arena is a multiplayer-style eating arena that runs entirely in your browser against bots, so a quick round starts the moment the page loads. You steer one soft cell with the pointer on desktop or a virtual joystick on a phone, and it never stops moving. Pellets scattered across the light grid make you bigger, and once you are bigger you can swallow any rival that sits under about four fifths of your mass. Everyone on the board is out for themselves, so the cell you are chasing is usually being chased by something larger.

Space splits every one of your cells in half and throws the new half forward. It is the fastest way to reach a rival that is running, and the fastest way to lose everything, because each piece is half the size until the halves merge again after a short cooldown. W spits out a small blob of mass, which is how you bait a rival your own size or feed one of the bright green viruses. A virus pops any big cell that touches it into a shower of small ones, and a well-fed virus fires a new virus in the direction you fed it, which is the cheapest way to bring down a leader. Very large cells slowly shrink, so nobody at the top can simply park and hold on.

The rivals fluctuate between 18 and 32 as cells are eaten and new ones arrive, and they do not all play the same way. Collectors farm pellets, hunters run you down with split kills, and careful ones lurk beside viruses waiting for a mistake. Each one has a skill profile from rookie to shark, remembers who ate it and comes back for revenge, and pauses or misjudges the way a person would. A top-10 leaderboard, a minimap and an event feed track the carnage, four emotes sit on keys 1-4, and the death card counts your peak mass, final rank and cells eaten. Your best rank and best mass are kept in your browser, so there is always a high score waiting to be beaten.
