Kitten Corner

Kitten Corner is a calm pet care game set in one sunny room. On your first visit you adopt a kitten from six looks, a tabby, a tuxedo, a ginger, a grey, a calico or a Siamese with dark points, and name it with letter tiles. The corner is all theirs: a window seat in the sun, a scratching post, a cat tree, a food corner, a tidy litter box, a toy box and a woven basket. Kittens wander, nap in the patch of sunlight that slowly crosses the floor, chase each other across the rug and knead the basket before they curl up. A clock on the wall runs a gentle day, and at night the lamp comes on and the window fills with stars.

Every kitten has six needs: food, water, play, clean, rest and cuddles, and every bit of care is done by hand. Drop kibble into the bowl and pour water from the jug, drag the feather wand and watch the kitten crouch, wiggle and leap for it, roll the yarn ball across the floor, sweep the scoop through the litter, and drag the brush along the fur so the loose fluff puffs away. Rub its back to pet it and you get a purr and slow blinks. Nothing bad ever happens: a kitten that needs something just looks a little sleepy or wistful and shows you what it wants in a thought bubble.

The toy box holds three quick games of twenty to forty seconds with no way to lose, only good, great and purrfect: chase a laser dot and count the pounces, stack three cardboard boxes into a fort and boop the kitten when it peeks out, or untangle a loop of yarn by dragging the pegs. Care fills a row of hearts that unlocks collars, bow ties, little hats, cushions, window-sill plants and a bigger cat tree, and brings a second and third kitten to adopt. A daily visit adds a sticker to your book, and coming back after a while gets a big hello instead of a telling-off. Your kittens, their names and their outfits are saved in your browser. It is a relaxing little game to come back to, a few minutes at a time.
