Haunted Maze

Haunted Maze is a spooky-cute maze arcade game for Halloween. Pip, a little pumpkin, glows brighter with every candle it carries, and the garden maze behind the haunted house is full of them. Collect every candle to clear the maze and sweep up the wrapped candy along the corridors for extra points. Three friendly ghosts drift about while you do: Minty follows you when you are close, Lulu heads to where you are going and Peachy mostly wanders. If one bumps into you, nothing worse happens than a boo: the ghost floats home and one of your candles hops out of your basket and lands somewhere else in the maze, so you fetch it again.

Grab a power lantern from a corner and the ghosts turn shy for a few seconds, cover their eyes and drift away from you. Catch them while they are shy and they giggle and float back to their room, each one worth more than the last. The 30 mazes grow slowly bigger, with more candles and slightly keener ghosts, and each one has three stars to earn: one for clearing it, one for beating the par time and one for doing that without losing a candle. Mazes are quick, from ten seconds to a couple of minutes, so there is always time for one more.

Endless mode puts a clock on it: every candle and every cleared maze buys a little time, fresh mazes keep coming in an endless run and your high score stays on your device. A daily maze brings a new layout every day and remembers today's best. It is a gentle game to relax with and a small brain workout in route planning. Steer with the arrow keys or WASD, click a spot with the mouse, or swipe and tap on a phone. P pauses and M mutes, and everything that matters is shown on screen, so it plays just as well with the sound off.
