Cooking games put you behind a counter with a queue in front of it. A customer shows you an order, you put it together in the right order, cook each part for the right length of time and serve it before their patience runs out. The fun is in the rhythm: one order at a time is easy, but three tickets, a grill and a fryer at once is where you learn to plan ahead.

Farm games are the slower side of the same idea. You plant, water, wait and harvest, and over a run of days your patch grows into something bigger. Kiloo's cooking and farm games are split into days, shifts or seasons, most of them bring in new ingredients, tools or upgrades as you go, and every step is a gesture such as a tap, a hold, a drag or a swipe.

Cooking and farm games to start with

Burger Rush is a good first shift: read the ticket, stack the burger from the bottom up, flip the patties in the right window and serve before the patience meter empties, over twenty busier days. Taco Truck works the same way at a street festival, with shells off the fryer, fillings on the plancha and salsa poured to the line. Noodle Bar is quicker still: pick one of three broths, lift the noodles while the timing bar is green, add the toppings and slide the bowl across. Grill Master is all about the grate, turning patties, sausages, corn and skewers inside the golden band and using its hot and cool zones.

If you like making something carefully, Pizza Party has you stretch the dough, swipe the sauce, place the toppings evenly and pull the pizza from the oven at the right shade. Cake Craft asks you to bake the sponges, stack them square, frost, pipe and decorate to match a picture of the order. Scoop Shop is a stacking game with real physics: drop scoops onto a cone, keep the tower straight and serve it before the heat melts it. Sushi Street sends your plates round a conveyor belt to six regulars whose patience you can see.

For a calmer pace, Harvest Hollow is a small farm where you hoe, sow, water and harvest ten crops through four seasons, then fill orders on the village board. Bee Meadow has you sow wildflowers, set hives where the forage is thickest, smoke a box before you open it and jar the honey.

How to play on a phone, tablet or keyboard

Every game here works on desktop, tablet and phone. On a touch screen you tap the ingredients in the order the ticket lists them and then tap to serve, and the craft games use your finger directly: drag in circles to stretch pizza dough, drag the cone under a falling scoop or work on the cake with a finger. In the farm games you tap a tool and then a free square, drag to look around and pinch to zoom.

On a keyboard the number keys pick ingredients, toppings or tools in most games, and Space serves. Burger Rush uses F to flip patties, Sushi Street uses R to start the rice and Noodle Bar puts its three broths on keys 1 to 3. P pauses and M mutes in all ten. Read the whole ticket before you start, because a wrong layer or topping costs time, and keep one eye on the timing bars rather than the queue. Grill Master and Noodle Bar both have a Practice mode with no pressure, which is a good place to learn the timing first.
