Dice Dungeon

Dice Dungeon is a quick dice-placement roguelike played on a cosy tabletop. Every turn you roll five chunky dice and drag them into your hero's wooden slots: a sword hits for the number on the die, a shield blocks it, a potion heals it, a lantern only takes an even number but hits and blocks at once, and a lucky slot waits for a six and hits for ten. The monsters show their next move above their heads, so every roll is a small brain puzzle: block the big swing that is coming, heal when you are low, or pile everything into the swords and make the monster poof before it acts.

A branching map leads through twenty floors in four wings, from the cellar and the library to the kitchen and the rooftop, with campfires to rest or carve a slot stronger, shops that take the coins you find, mystery rooms and a boss every five floors: the Marshmallow King, Professor Owl, the Teapot Titan and a grumpy Storm Cloud. After every fight you pick one of three relics that change the dice, such as a loaded die that never rolls low, a reroll charm, or a sticky die that keeps its value for the next turn.

When your hero retreats, the run ends back at camp, where your best floor unlocks new heroes with their own slot layouts: the Witch, the Chef and the Jester. Clear floor twenty and you can go on into endless, tougher laps to chase a high score. Every roll and every monster's plan comes from the run's seed, and the run is saved after every die you place, so you can close the tab mid-fight and pick up exactly where you were.
