We have begun distribution of JackAttack – our remake of the Commodore 64 classic.

The essence of the game is “squish or be squished!”. That is, you fight the monsters by jumping on them – and avoid being jumped upon. At the same time, you try to the environment to your advantage. You can push around the blocks that make up the level and use them to squish the enemies.

The game includes both the classic game and an updated game mode with new graphics and enhanced gameplay. We’ve added new enemies and improved your maneuverability (you are now able to fly – only sideways, though). You play a ladybird in a vigorous battle against a tree and its henchmen – which means apples, oranges and plums (falling from its branches) and bees, spiders and fish.

The game is actually quite fun. And the graphics are really sweet and will instantly improve your mood :

We’ve found the winner of our World Championship in Lemans!

For a long time, Benos75 was way ahead of the rest of us. But then Swobi entered the arena and he almost took the lead. Almost, but not quite.

With a score of 495520 Benos75 remained in 1st place and Swobi took the 2nd place with a score of 416590. They both had more than double the score of the third place! (Green 13 with a score of 198840)

I had to settle for a 31th place (PenguinOfDeath2), and Jeppe had got a feeble 450th place – were you even trying, Jeppe?! (Truth is: he was playing on my account when he made my record )

We’ve updated our Whac-a-Mole game on App Store to a Valentine’s version.

In our latest version of C64, we are giving you what no C64 emulator has given before: A chance to compete online against your friends. This has been made possible through a combination of OpenFeint integration and a little bit of game hacking . Currently you’ll be able to compete in classic games such as Jupiter Lander, Uridium, Paradroid and Lemans.

The Zenses games are Game Factory’s hugely popular active relaxation games for Nintendo DS. We love the mood and gameplay of these games and look forward to presenting them on iPhone.

We count on an early spring release for the first title – but it will not be released before we are completely satisfied. The first title will be based on Zenses Stack Jack where you gather small puzzle pieces falling from the sky in a beautiful waterfall setting. The gameplay is simple, yet unique.

It seems like Christmas just might come early this year, as our good friends at Manomio have just recently submitted version 1.2 of the C64 for Apples approval process. Version 1.2 will enable in-app purchase, greatly improve the controls and add a whole bunch of games for our ever expanding game catalogue.

Among the titles that will be available as soon as Apple approves them are classics like, Bruce Lee, Nebulus, Laser Squad and Paradroid. The great action/adventure Bruce Lee and the deliciously addictive Laser Squad will actually be free with the purchase of C64 1.2. Furthermore a whole bunch of other titles will also be available continuously.

Snow is falling, Christmas is just around the corner and 1.2 is our present to all of you.

Christmas Greetings from Kiloo

Surprisingly, the review section of our Whac-a-Mole Xmas game has turned into a religious discussion on the US iTunes Store.

Some people feel offended about our choice of the word “Xmas” instead of “Christmas”. For example:

“The name should be CHRISTmas not ‘Xmas’ the reason we celebrate Christmas is because of Christ’s birth. I am a Christian, and totally am offended by the name Xmas because thats just not what it should be called”.

and

“U should of made the name Christmas not Xmas u insulted me but it’s ok of a game”.

This prompts responds such as this:

“Why don’t you Christians stop whining over a stupid shortening of the word “Christmas”. God you people get offended so easily no wonder everyone can’t stand you.”

and

“The reason they shortent the term Christmas is because not everybody celebrates it. Have you forgotten about the other holidays of the jewish people?? I’m Christian, and I know why it’s done. Remember, God wants us to live our lives and not obsess with everything that we see as wrong. Because chances are that you’ve broken quite a few commandments yourself, so don’t act like you’re alittle angel. God loves us all, sinners and everything. : – )”

We can assure you all, that we had no intentions of offending anyone and we didn’t expect our game to start a religious discussion. We just wanted to celebrate the holiday – whatever you wish to call it : -)

Kiloo is looking to partner with a highly agile, adaptable mobile development studio in the Eastern Europe or Baltic regions.

The studio needs to be well established with a proven track record, great english speaking skills from management is necessary. Probably 10-20 people with a excellent network to make sure you can scale if necessary on a per project basis.

Excellent skills in iPhone, Android development is a must. Good knowledge of J2ME, Brew, Facebook & Flash development is a big plus.

Great news! Our C64 application has finally returned to App Store! We’ve used the down time to improve the overall performance of the app and we have added three sports titles from the classic International series (International Soccer etc.).

We are painfully aware that the titles currently available are not the top titles of the C64, but we are doing everything we can to correct this, and in time we are sure that you’ll find your personal favourites among the games.

Our biggest challenge is to find the current owners of the Commodore 64 games. The licenses have been bought, sold and re-sold countless of times during the last 25 year. However, we have already seen some results and we can confirm that famous titles like Bruce Lee and Druid will be available with version 1.2 (which we hope to release mid-December).

We have recently submitted our Xmas edition of Whac-a-Mole for iPhone.

This is our take on a LITE version of the game. We are actually quite content with the whacky christmas mood, we’ve created.
