In Zenses Water Lily you have to fill the puzzle with pieces, but instead of turning the pieces, you turn the puzzle itself! We’ve created 100 unique levels using different features such as walls and coloured bonus areas. We’ve been working on the game since April and it’s great to see it get into shape from the initial rough ideas. Beta-testing helped us a lot in this regard, as we got a lot of feedback that we wouldn’t want to be without.

Right now we are doing the last bit of tweaking, making screenshots and making sure that everything will be in tip-top shape before the launch. The game will be submitted as an update to the original Zenses Rainforest App so that this app will include both titles for free. We believe this is the best way for the customer to try the product before he or she purchases anything. Stay tuned as we’ll post in here once the update goes live, which shouldn’t be much more than two weeks from now.

Zoonies is an original IP, a colorful and unique puzzle/platformer with a cute contemporary look. It follows the adventures of the cunning lion, Leo, on his quest to save his friends from the evil Indian Chief: Makatu. As evident in the trailer Leo is being chased by mischievous indians, and it’s the task of the player to remove traps, obstacles and solve the puzzles that lay ahead.

Right now Zoonies is in a demo stage with the Jungle World completed along with six crazy levels to show off the basic functionality, physics and graphical appearance. However, we want to create a lasting brand on the Nintendo DS, so still lots of room for improvements. Follow the development right here on Kiloos blog,

Even more important are the long demanded rework of the controls. Finally, you are able to adjust the deadzone sensitivity. Some games have received a specific UI to support their steering, which also means that Druid is available.

All in all this update has been quite a long time in the making, however it’s definitely worth the wait as we strive to deliver the best retro experience in the App Store. Keep suggesting improvements either here or over at Toucharcade to support the app.

Now go kill some aliens in your spacecraft, or fight the evil powers with the Last Ninja alive. Party like it’s 1989.

We also had multiple Whac-a-Mole updates, including Easter, Valentine and a new Ninja version that all helped seal the app’s impressive impact on the store . Whac-a-Mole has more than 2.2 million downloads so far, and especially an impressive Easter run helped gather lots of those downloads. Further on, we are planning ports to Samsung devices, a new amazing iPad version and iPhone 4 support. We’ll definitely also keep refreshing the game from time to time.

Furthermore, our C64 application in coorporation with Manomio was also catapulted to the top of the app store from out the mists of history. Together with FreeAppADay the App went free for some time and gathered more than 1.5 million downloads. C64 was also updated multiple times during the months, and we are now looking at quite an impressive collection of games. We’ve got yet another update planned that should reach the App. Store within a couple of weeks: restyling the controls, adding games and a new interface to the retro app numero uno!

In more recent news. Our JokeToons application launched just last week. It’s been created for the Funny Farm, a new company featuring some of the animators from Avatar. So you know that they’re good for some great animation and a sense of grandeur. The App is filled with funny snack films rendered in amazing 3d. Last but not least our demo for our Zoonies DS game was finished last friday. Zoonies is one of the games that could be in for quite a ride this fall. For now we are preparing our presentations for GamesCom in Cologne at the end of August.

The second Zenses game is yet another relaxing mind-puzzler with soothing music and high production value. Water Lilly is about solving puzzles before time runs out, however instead of turning the pieces to fit, you turn the puzzle itself. There are about 100 levels at the current stage, but gameplay tweaking is still taking place and we’ve received a lot of nice suggestions that we’ll try out for the next version of the game. This is excactly why it was so important to get members of the iPhone community to present their feedback. A couple of fresh eyes can do a whole lot for a game that’s been in development for some time.

I wish to thank the persons who participated and we’ll surely be setting up an additional Zenses test soon. Hopefully it’ll be before Summer Holiday rolls around and everybody goes outside to play instead of staring at their iPhone and iPods. As the friends are taking a holiday trip away from the jungle their plane crashes deep within it. Here a tribe of savage, malicious Indians are hiding, lead by the evil Makatu. When Leo the Lion awakes from his unconcious sleep, he’s captured in a cage, Indians all around him. Making his escape from the village, it’s now up to the player and Leo to free his friends before Makatu captures yet another innocent animal.

Zoonies is the biggest game so far in the company’s ten year old history. It’s a mixed 2d/3d platformer with a unique form of interaction. Instead of steering Leo with the keypad, he is always on the run. It’s your job to use the stylus to keep him from harm. The game will be multiplatform as we are preparing both a DS release and an iPhone version of the game.

As mentioned earlier the Zoonies demo is just two weeks away from finalization. The entire project has been created in coorporation with the New Danish Screen. Menus are being put into place, new levels are being created and pixels are being drawn every second. What happens once the demo is finally finished? No one knows, but be prepared for a surprise as Zoonies are closing in to take the Nintendo DS stage.

Coincidentally, this update came at the same time the App started climbing the charts once again. It’s the fourth or fifth time the App reaches top 100 in the US and it’s amazing to see the feedback to this arcade classic. Let me put in a quick “thank you” to all the people supporting us out there!

However, ninjas and samurais are not all we have in store for you. Rumours of an iPad version and further updates are circulating, and we’ll announce the second we know what the next release will contain.

The last week or so has seen the triumphant return of the Commodore 64 to the top of the charts. Not since the early nineties has this classic home computer experienced this amount of worldwide exposure. After becoming a free app on the fourth of April, C64 has taken the number one spot in more than ten countries. Furthermore, the app has been top 5 in more than 33 countries in the App. Store – including the US.

The launch of the free app came along with the much awaited version 1.6. This update added fifteen new games! Along with a couple of control fixes for specific games. The game list includes classics like Boulder Dash® II, Super Pipeline, Space Taxi, Wizball and Express Raider.

It’s truly exciting to see the C64 return to the top of the charts. It’s also a strong indicator of the longivity of these classic games that the Commodore is back as a best seller. We’ll continue to support the C64 app to ensure that it will become the no. 1 retro experience in the App. Store.

Last week saw the long awaited release of our new game, Zenses Rainforest for iPhone/iPod Touch. Rainforest is the first title in a series of active relaxation puzzle games from Kiloo.

In Zenses you have to gather different coloured shapes before they glide all the way down the waterfall. Featuring evocative graphics and a soothing soundtrack, Zenses is the best way to relax after a long hard day on the job. Originally developed for the Nintendo DS, we have now optimized the game to the Touch features offered by Apples products.

We’ve already begun development on the second game in the series, but we’ll take any feedback offered on Rainforest and do our very best to make this the preferred puzzle game in the App Store.
